Regeneration of the Hovězí Village Square
Location:
Hovězí, Czech Republic
Year of design completion:
2010
Client:
Village of Hovězí
Budgeted cost:
9,5 million CZK
Project description:
The area concerned can be divided into four autonomous composition units – a central square, an entrance to the village council offices, a passageway through the square and bus stops, and finally a pedestrian path along the Hořanský Brook with resting place.
Surfaces of the village square had numerous local defects with some uneven spots or potholes combined with repaired stone pavings. The asphalt road III/4873a had no horizontal signage over most of its length. There were no designated places for bus stops included and the car parking was completely unorganized.
New arrangement clearly defines the roadway and parking bays, and besides, it helps organize pedestrian traffic to avoid collision with vehicular traffic and includes dedicated bays for the bus stops. Furthermore, areas for community events and gatherings are clearly defined.
The project is in full compliance with the zoning plan of the village of Hovězí.
